The Mont Blanc massif straddles the borders of France, Italy and Switzerland. It stretches over the French departments of Haute-Savoie, the Aosta Valley (Italy) and the canton of Valais (Switzerland). Rising up to 4,810 metres, Mont Blanc is the highest mountain peak in Western Europe.
