Evidence of these terror weapons and incredible defensive structures are spread all across Europe, if you know where to look….
Nazi Megastructures revisits significant historical locations to reveal the fascinating personal stories of the men who designed, built and operated these terrifying megastructures that still stand or exist today.
Structured explored include: the Eagle’s Nest, a lavish tea house designed for Hitler to entertain guests and dignitaries high above his Alpine retreat in Bavaria, the fortified buildings constructed on the Channel Islands when this British territory came under German occupation.
This truly fascinating series shows how these structures of the past remain today as poignant reminders of the terror they once held.

1)  Hitlers Island Megafortress
It’s June 1940 and the Nazis have taken the Channel Islands, where Hitler orders some of the most fortified structures in the Third Reich.

2)  The Eagles Nest
Hitler transformed his Alpine retreat in Bavaria into a fortified fiefdom, home to 2,000 SS troops and protected by a high level security system.

3)  Lightning War Machine
Ruins across Europe tell the story of Blitzkrieg, a revolution in warfare which almost gave Hitler the chance to create his Thousand Year Reich.

4)  Hitlers Killer Subs
Hitler planned a submarine to outperform all others. The Type 21 was the world’s most advanced submarine: Hitler’s sea-faring super weapon.

5)  Pacific Megaships
In the 1930s the Japanese begin designing the Yamato, the world’s most powerful battleship, 30 per cent larger than anything their enemies have.

6)  Japanese Superfortress
In 1945 Japanese generals construct a network of defences and tunnels on Okinawa, creating a devastating killing ground for American troops.
