Countrywise: Series 7
Joining series regular, farming and agricultural expert Paul Heiney, will be new additions, intrepid adventurer Ben Fogle and wildlife biologist Liz Bonnin.
Immersing viewers in the changing face and hidden beauty of rural Britain, the fresh mix of items in the new series will explore our countryside’s best stories and key issues, encompassing wildlife, conservation, farming, science and along the way meeting those who live and work there.
With the team of presenters all experts in their own field, this wayfaring trio will take viewers on an energetic and investigative look at our countryside.

1)  Dorset Coast
The return of the programme exploring rural stories and issues, with Paul Heiney heading to the Dorset coast to visit one of the world’s largest populations of swans. Ben Fogle travels to Northern Ireland in search of the elusive Irish hare and Liz Bonnin ventures out into the Atlantic to snorkel with basking sharks

2)  Cumbrian Fells
Ben Fogle heads to the Cumbrian fells to try his hand at sheepdog training with Katy Cropper, who was the first woman to win One Man and His Dog. Liz Bonnin visits a sanctuary looking after injured and orphaned hedgehogs in Lancashire, and Paul Heiney helps with the watercress harvest in Hampshire

3)  Norfolk
Paul Heiney heads to Norfolk to help alpaca-keepers with their annual shearing, and Ben Fogle puts aside adventuring for a while as he travels to the Camel Valley in Cornwall to sample the delights of British wine. Plus, Liz Bonnin visits Cheshire to search for an extremely rare species of dragonfly

4)  South Wales
Liz Bonnin heads to the south Wales coast to find out about the health benefits of goat’s milk, while Paul Heiney is in Britain’s newest national park to meet the volunteers and farmers who preserve and protect the South Downs. Ben Fogle visits a family-run honey business in the Peak District

5)  Cornwall
Liz Bonnin joins a group of city children farming on the south Wales coast, Paul Heiney takes to the seas in a Norfolk lifeboat that has a special story attached to it while Ben Fogle is at St Michael’s Mount in Cornwall for a spot of extreme gardening

6)  Cumbria
Intrepid adventurer Ben Fogle encounters timber wolves in Cumbria, and wildlife biologist Liz Bonnin explores a little-known walking route at the White Cliffs of Dover. Plus, Paul Heiney reports from the Lake District, where the ancient craft of scything is enjoying an renaissance

7)  Dartmoor
Ben Fogle visits Dartmoor, where a search and rescue dog team puts his own dog Storm to the test, and Paul Heiney meets a man restoring shepherds’ huts in Dorset. Liz Bonnin travels to the north coast of Wales and an island populated by seabirds

8) Formby Merseyside
Liz Bonnin heads to Formby in Merseyside to take part in the National Trust’s biggest coastal wildlife survey, Paul Heiney learns about traction engines at the Great Dorset Steam Fair, while Ben Fogle is in Devon to meet a woman taking horseriding to a whole new level. Last in the series
